These terms cover your use of onlineslopecalculator.com. There is no account to open and nothing to agree to in a dialog box — using the site is the agreement, and if a term below does not suit you, the remedy is simply not to use it.

What You Are Being Given

A set of calculators and reference pages, free of charge, with no account, no subscription, no usage limit and no feature held back for payment. That applies to every result, the full step-by-step working and the graph.

You may use the results for any purpose, personal or commercial, without a licence and without attribution. Copy a figure into an estimate, a drawing, a lesson plan or a report as freely as you would a figure from a pocket calculator.

Not Professional Advice

This is the term that matters most. These calculators are arithmetic tools, not engineering, surveying, architectural, legal or safety advice, and using one does not create a professional relationship of any kind.

Where a page cites a standard — the ADA ramp provisions, the IPC and UPC drainage tables — it is quoting a widely adopted document as a convenience, not certifying compliance. Codes are amended, and jurisdictions adopt, amend and supersede them on their own timetables. Anything that will actually be built, inspected or certified must be checked against the code in force where the work is, and reviewed by a qualified professional where the work warrants it. The methodology pagesets out the arithmetic in full, including what these tools deliberately do not do.

Offered As-Is

Considerable care goes into the arithmetic, and it is covered by an automated test suite whose expected values were derived independently rather than recorded from the code's own output. Even so, the site is provided as-is and as-available, without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or uninterrupted availability.

To the fullest extent the law allows, no liability is accepted for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or of anything obtained from it, including any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or economic loss — material ordered wrongly, work that has to be redone, a design that fails an inspection, or time lost. You use the output at your own risk, and the responsibility for checking a figure before acting on it rests with you.

Nothing here limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or liabilities, in which case those exclusions apply only as far as that jurisdiction permits.

Acceptable Use

There is very little to prohibit on a site that stores nothing and asks for nothing, but for completeness: do not attempt to interfere with the site's operation or its hosting, do not attempt to gain access to systems or data you are not entitled to, do not scrape it at a volume that degrades it for other people, and do not republish it in a way that presents it as your own work or misrepresents where the figures came from.

Embedding

The embeddable version may be placed on your own pages, including commercial and ad-supported ones, with no attribution required and nothing to sign. It is served from this domain, so it is maintained and updated here — which also means it may change, and it may at some point be moved or withdrawn. Do not modify the embed to alter the results it shows or to remove its identification of this site as their source.

Content and Intellectual Property

Numerical results are facts and are yours to use without restriction. The written explanations, page text, design, logo and source code are not: they remain the property of the site and are not free to be copied wholesale onto another site. Quoting a passage with a link back is fine and welcome.

Formulas and published standards belong to nobody here. The slope formula is mathematics, and the ADA, IPC and UPC provisions belong to the bodies that publish them; those are cited on themethodology page so you can read the source rather than take a quotation on trust.

Links to Other Sites

Some pages link to code documents and standards bodies. Those sites are not under this site's control, nothing is requested from them until you click, and no responsibility is taken for their content, their accuracy or their own terms and privacy practices.

Availability and Changes

The site is offered free of charge and comes with no uptime commitment. Pages may be added, changed, corrected or removed without notice — a correction to a formula is precisely the sort of change that should be made promptly rather than announced in advance. Where a URL has to move, redirects are used wherever it is practical to do so.

Privacy

The privacy page forms part of these terms. In summary: the numbers you type never leave your device, no cookie is set, no analytics or advertising script is loaded, and the only thing stored on your device is your choice of light or dark theme.

Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised, and the revised version applies from the date it is published here. There is no mailing list to notify, so the date below is the honest record of when they last changed. If a future change requires your consent — introducing advertising, for instance — it will be asked for properly rather than assumed. Last updated August 15, 2026.
